Stellar Blade gets April 26 release date at State of Play trailer

Stellar Blade, Shift Up’s upcoming action title, got an extended gameplay and story trailer at today’s State of Play event. This revealed several new details about the game’s world, as well as the dynamics between main character Eve and those around her. It also got an updated release date, from a general 2024 window to April 26, 2024. According to developer Shift Up Corporation, preorders for the game open on February 7.

The trailer shows Eve fighting her enemy, the Naytibas — an alien race attacking Earth for reasons yet unknown. Originally from a colony, she returns to earth to fight an “Elder Naytibas” alongside her Earth-based counterpart, Adam, and fellow warrior Lily. Stellar Blade will have a semi-open world called the Wasteland and the Great Desert, along with a hub town called Xion. Eve can help the citizens of Xion by collecting Hyper Cells to restore the town.

Hyung Tae Kim, director of Stellar Blade, said on the PlayStation Blog that there are several other items Eve can collect along the way: “Throughout her adventures, you will pick up items like Exospines or Gears as well as acquire SP EXP which unlocks powerful skills. You can also acquire various cosmetics, such as costumes, accessories, and hairstyles.”
