PC Gamers Can Claim 2 Big Games Completely Free Right Now – GameRant

PC gamers currently have the opportunity to claim two big games completely free of charge, but they will need to act fast.
At the time of this writing, PC gamers can claim both Death Stranding and Metro: Last Light Complete Edition completely free of charge, but the offers don't last forever. PC gamers are often treated to free games with no subscriptions necessary, though the freebies are only ever available to claim within a limited window.
Both Steam and the Epic Games Store give away free games on a regular basis. With Steam the freebies are more irregular since they tend to be from the developers or publishers themselves as a promotional tactic, whereas the Epic Games Store gives away free games on a set schedule. Most of the time the free games are lower-profile, indie releases, but right now PC gamers on Steam and the Epic Games Store have the opportunity to claim two bigger budget, AAA releases.

From now until Thursday, May 25, Death Stranding is free on the Epic Games Store. Death Stranding earned mixed reviews at the time of its original release, but it is still notable as being the first Hideo Kojima-developed game since his dramatic departure from Konami. Metro: Last Light Complete Edition, meanwhile, is the original version of the hit first-person shooter game Metro: Last Light, the second entry in the Metro series. Like Death Stranding, Metro: Last Light Complete Edition is only free until May 25, so those interested should be sure to grab it for their digital libraries ASAP.
As it so happens, both free games are being given away as part of ongoing promotions. In Death Stranding's case, it's being given away for free to promote the ongoing Epic Games Mega Sale. Death Stranding is the first in what will be a series of mystery games given away for free through the Epic Game Store to try to bring users back to the digital storefront every week.
Metro: Last Light Complete Edition is being given away to promote a Steam sale where the entire Metro series is being discounted. Metro 2033 Redux, Metro: Last Light Redux, and the Gold Edition of Metro Exodus are all available at 80% off. The regular version of Metro Exodus has a 77% discount, and all its DLC has been heavily discounted as well. Those that want the entire series can save 85% on the Metro Saga Bundle, which includes the Redux versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light along with Metro Exodus and its Expansion Pass.
